What is Neon Girl? (10 Examples)

Neon girl is a retro-futuristic aesthetic that drenches urban, subculture, futuristic or girl next door fashions in the unnatural light of neon. Neon lights were invented in 1910 and introduced at the Paris Motor Show that same year. As such, neon lights are nothing new and aren't used to demonstrate advanced futures but rather cyberpunk futures that are chaotic and human despite advanced technology. This is considered dystopian but really it is more of a positive thing, the dream that we will somehow hold on to our disordered ways as harsh technological systems surround us, bathing us in their light.
